We want to commit to various temporal foci with the idea of playing the infinite game [1]. To do this we think in terms of orders of magnitudes of years. That is: 10^N years for N={ 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 }. The focus for each milestone supports the next one down the line. Each year, the foci are reviewed and refreshed for the next 10^N years.

The double meaning of focus is important here. It emphasizes both activity and quality. Activity is what we work on. Quality is the fidelity of the outcomes produced along the way.
